Hi there! Crystal here with our first Color Combos with Crystal for the month of November! Today’s project features one of my favorite go-to techniques, MASKING HEAT EMBOSSING RESIST!
You will need a super fun background stamp set Flurry of Flakes from Unity and the newest Glimmer Greetings stamp set. We are masking with washi tape and removing some of the tacky backings.
To start, trim the cardstock 4.25 x 5.50 inches, then mask the edges with your tack-less 🙂 washi tape. Using the Flurry of Flakes stamp set, placed in a Mini Misti and with Heat Embossing ink. Then cover the wet stamped ink using white Heat Embossing Powder. Remove the excess and heat set.
For the sentiments, the Glimmer Greetings is the choice with the Merry Christmas, stamped on black cardstock, heat embossed with white, then trimmed into a square. Adding foam adhesive on the back.
Now, back to the card front, using two colors of Distress Oxides, Salty Ocean, and Faded Jeans. Blending each color on the top and bottom, and blending together at the center. Once that is done, using a dry cloth removes the excess ink from the heat embossed flakes.
Time to remove the washi by rolling the adhesive off, not up. Once all 4 sides are gone, add the sentiment.
To finish up, make little dots using Nuvo Drops in White inside the ink blending.
I of course have the video:
That does it, for me!
