Hi, Gaylynn here. For Technique Time at Unity, I am showing one way to add white embossed stamping over navy shimmer paper in this card tutorial. This is a simple card technique that really pops.
Embossed stamping is an easy way to add texture and interest to card making. And, using high contrast colors makes it even nicer.
Helpful tips:
Here are helpful tips for creating this card with white embossed stamping. To begin, trim or die-cut a smooth navy blue panel for stamping and a white background panel. Next, stamp the navy paper with a lace border, sentiment and accent stamps, using embossing ink. It helps to use a stamp positioner, like the Misti. Also, add white embossing powder over the embossing ink, brush away the stray powder pieces, and then heat emboss. Then, adhere silver ribbon and twine at one end of the blue panel. Next, adhere the blue panel over a trimmed white panel and then attach it all to the card base. To finish, add adhesive pearl accents.
The navy blue paper has shimmer and looks a bit different when the light changes. This is the same card reflecting more light from the shimmer.
Here is another look:
