Welcome back to Unity’s Monthly Challenge on use of Texture! This week’s inspiration combines a Darice snowflake border embossing folder with A Frosty Christmas snowman stamp!
I started this simple card by cutting down Kraft card stock to the folder’s size. After spritzing it with water, I embossed the paper and then swiped Distress ink over the raised bits using Weathered Wood and Broken China.
I stamped the snowman in the center using the distress ink and colored him using my Prismacolor pencils and a few pens. After die cutting the image, I backed it with orange and black paper. I found a perfect patterned paper to use as foundation on black card stock. Why the use the nontraditional blue and orange combo? Well. besides the carrot colored nose, blue and orange are complementary colors and set each other up beautifully!
To embellish the card, I add Nuvo drops and enamel dots with a blue velvet ribbon and sparkly orange twine. I used the Jolly Ol’ Santa kit for the sentiment. I stamped it with Weathered Wood oxide and embossed it with Speckled Egg Distress Embossing Glaze.
Embossing folders can really enhance the beauty of Unity stamps while add a bit of interesting texture to the card! Try it and add your card to the challenge!
