Hi there! Crystal here with a fun and easy messy watercolor background that is sure way to create a coordinating card. Today’s color combination is a spring floral inspired set of peachy pinks and greens.
The whole thing is then placed on a gorgeously stamped background that has a very romantic look and perfect for any occasion.
For today’s project we will be using the following products:
-Hello Fresh Start Stamp Kit from Unity Stamp Co.
– Love Story background
-Copics
-Watercolors
-Sequins
-Foam Adhesive
-White Cardstock
-Sequins
To begin, we are stamping the Love Story background using black ink onto a white piece of cardstock and trimming it to 4.25 x 5.50 inches. Then stamping the florals from the Hello Fresh Start kit with a Copics friendly ink and coloring with Copics. I used: R20, R00, YG95 and YG45. Once that was fully colored, I fuzzy cut the image with scissors and added foam adhesive.
This was then placed over the Love Story background. With my watercolors and acrylic block, I created a watered-down version of colors to closely match what I had used on the florals. By adding more water, the lighter the color. These were then placed under the foam adhere florals to make it look like was a fully done. By doing it this way I could be sure that I could create a pattern of color I liked without colors bleeding and the dry time would be less.
While the watercolor dried, I stamped the sentiment using pink ink, and created a paper ribbon by trimming one edge to look like a triangular ribbon and the other to a straight edge. Then with the R00 Copics I colored the outline of the paper to give it dimension. I then placed it to the left corner using foam adhesive.
To finish the whole thing, I added some sequins using my Tombow Clear Mono Adhesive and a jewel picker upper thingy.
The whole thing has a soft look with much color coordination, and it is perfect for any occasion. I have a full video tutorial for you down below.
Thanks!
Crystal
