Hi friends! Whit here with a super fun and simple technique to share with you today using your background stamps.
I adore background stamps as it’s such a fun and easy way to create a card– stamp a background and add a sentiment to fit the occasion! I was looking for some unique ways to use backgrounds and came across an old tutorial by Jennifer McGuire.
She shared some awesome ideas for stamping a color blocked look with background stamps. I had to do a little bit of tweaking since our backgrounds are rectangles and she was using square backgrounds– but it totally worked! {after a lot of groaning cause measuring is hard.. I’m a crafter. Not a mathematician}
Anyway! My alterations totally worked and I think I was able to simplify this technique enough to make it super easy for you- saving you the headache! hehe.
So without further ado, here’s the video showing you how to create this color block stamping look:
Here’s the finished card! Criss Cross Heart Background was such a perfect stamp to showcase this color block technique.
Pairing this background with a bold sentiment from Heart of Autumn really made this card come to life– I adore the font and size. For that reason alone that sentiment set is a MUST HAVE for me.
I hope that this tutorial inspired you to try out this technique for yourself with your favorite backgrounds! If you do try it, I’d love to see! Simply join us over on the Unity {show & tell} to share your creation! Be sure to TAG me so I can see it!
xoxo
