Hi Friends! Welcome back to another floral challenge inspiration post from me – Sandhya of Sanju’s Creations. Today I am combining the large floral from the You Are Important stamp set with a sentiment from this month’s sentiment kit – Hello Fresh Start. I had this gigantic flower on my wishlist forever! So finally, when the Brown Thursday sale went live I snagged this right away. If you don’t have this in your collection, then make sure to look it up as it will go on sale soon after this post is published. I hope this inspires you to bring out your large floral stamps for the Fresh Start With Florals Challenge over on the Unity Show and Tell Facebook Page.
About My Card
To start with, I stamped the image with Brutus Monroe embossing ink on Strathmore Cold Pressed 140lb watercolor paper. Then, I heat embossed over it with Brutus Monroe Gilded embossing powder. This is my favorite gold embossing powder as it melts evenly and has an amazingly shiny finish. Next, I used a paintbrush and added generous amounts of water to the petals of the flower. I placed tiny bits of Nuvo Shimmer Powder – Cherry Bomb close to the inner edges of the flower. Then, I allowed it to be carried around by the water and gently coaxed it to move using a brush loaded with clean water. I repeated this process using the Blue blitz shimmer powder for the area around the flower. For the center of the flower, I added a little bit of yellow using regular watercolors and also splattered some in the background area.
Once I was happy with the coverage, I allowed the panel to air-dry. Then, I die-cut it using a die from Gina Marie Designs. I wound some May Arts Ivory jute cord around this panel and tied a bow. Then, I stamped and heat embossed my sentiment in gold on a strip of white cardstock. Finally, trimmed it and cut out fishtail ends, and popped it over the jute cord. For added interest, I used a 3D embossing folder to emboss the front of my card base and then adhered to the panel using foam tape.
Thank You
