Easy Floral Watercolor Cards for any Occasion | Color Combos with Crystal

Hi there! Crystal here today with a fun and bright Color Combos with Crystal using the newest January Background stamp kit from Unity called Inked Floral. (Which I am totally obsessed with!) Because it is soooo versatile and easy to create with.

Today’s color combination is inspired by the upcoming Valentine’s because everything is pink and red, however the project today is so easy to interchange the sentiments for an ANY OCCASION card.

So, without further a due, we will be using the following products:

  • Inked Floral Unity Stamp Co. Stamp Set
  • Hello Fresh Start Stamp Co Stamp Set
  • Love Story Background Stamp Set
  • Black Hybrid Ink
  • Watercolors
  • Foam Adhesive
  • Neenah 110 lb. White Cardstock
  • Black Embellishments

To start this card, we will begin by stamping all the things using black ink. Preferably a hybrid that can handle the watercolor! We will stamp the Inked Florals onto White Cardstock, doing the same with the Love Story Background, and the Congratulations.

I then trimmed the Love Story background to 5.25 x 4.50 inches. The floral was then straight edge cut and fussy cut the center out and placed over the Love Story with Foam Adhesive. The Congratulations goes on a strip and added to the center cut of the card.

Now to watercolor, please consider I did not use watercolor cardstock, and this will not allow me to add a ton of water, so if you want multiple layers to consider stamping on watercolor cardstock.

Using 4 colors from my palette a added the shadows first and followed by adding water to run the color further down to the end of the petals. Adding multiple shades of purple following the lines of the Inked Florals gave it a beautiful look!

The sentiment strip is also watercolored with the same colors and let to dry.

To finish up the entire thing, I added a set of iridescent black jewels all over the place to really give the card a sparkle that is perfect for any occasion.

That does it for me today, I hope you enjoy this video tutorial.

Thanks!

Crystal
