No Better Words | Ink Blended Sunset

February 20, 2021 - by Lisa Arana

No Better Words | Ink Blended Sunset

Ink Blended Sunset Background

Did you notice the December 2020 Unity Stamp Company sentiment kit? It is so pretty and really fun to play with. I have been delayed in how I created this card. It is about time I shared, don’t you think? I love how easy it was to create. While it may take a bit of time, you could recreate it too.

Featured Stamp Set

No Better Words
I love the gorgeous tree line. It has lots of possibilities… use it as the bare bone trees they are for winter and snow scenes. You could fill it in with watercolor or Copic markers. There are clouds to accent the sky with a sun or moon PLUS just look at that little cluster of birds taking flight. All the little stamps mixed together create one amazing little scene.

The Video

The Project

The Details

Ok. So I might have been a bit selfish in designing this stamp set. It has all of the little elements I wanted to create a scene. The trees, the sun the clouds… they were all important to the image I had in my head. So to see them together on paper makes my little heart so very happy. It absolutely turned out just how I had hoped. The background was created with lots of Distress Ink colors: peeled paint, fossilized amber, festive berries, dusty concord, tumbled glass, faded jeans, hickory smoke, and black soot. You’ll really need to watch the video to see how it was all blended and combined into the image above. Of course, I’m happy to share my process and thoughts as I went along. It was so fun to create this background. I almost felt like I was painting and Bob Ross was with me whispering about happy little trees. Haha. Thanks for joining me today. I hope you are inspired by today’s project. If you create something, I’d love to see it. Join us in the Unity Show & Tell Facebook group to share your card and tag me.
