Stencil blending & Copic markers book themed card tutorial

February 10, 2021 - by Gaylynn

Stencil blending & Copic markers book themed card tutorial

Hello.  It’s Gaylynn here.  For Technique Time at Unity Stamp Company, I share stencil blending and Copic coloring for this book-themed card.

This card with the stencil blending on the text background works with many stamps, themes and occasions.

Sentiment:  Every chapter is the chance for a new beginning.

Helpful tips:

Here are helpful tips for creating this stencil blending card background.  To begin, stamp the text background.  Then, trim or die-cut the stamping to fit onto your card base.  Next, using an ink blending brush or applicator, blend two colors of distress oxide ink around the sides of the text panel.  Also, stamp the girl and the sentiment using Copic friendly ink.  Then, trim the girl panel in a narrow shape to fit over the background.  Next, color in the girl with Copic markers.  Finally, layer everything and embellish it to finish.

And here is another look.

Here is my video tutorial for this project.  It will detail the full process.

Supplies:  Unity Stamp Co. Not The End Of Your Story, Small Details {background} and Clouds and Waves {stencil}.
Also, foam and flat double-sided tape, cardstock, Original Misti, adhesive pearls, My Creative Time rectangle frame die layers, MFT extreme black ink, Ranger ink in magenta hue, distress oxide ink pads in wilted violet and worn lipstick; ink blending brush, lace, Copic markers V06, V04, V01, RV11, RV04, E15, E33, E11, YR00, Y26, W3.
