Hi there! Crystal here with a very spring inspired, pastel color combo card mixed with a fun twist of kraft cardstock. For today’s project I wanted to use the stamp set from the February Whit Kit called Small Steps Are Progress which is available outside of the kit! That’s right if you don’t want/need/the item sold out, the stamp set is still available for purchase.
For the color combination I am leaning on a Pastel look, since stamping BRIGHT colors on Kraft really tones them down, I felt that Kraft was the way to go. So let’s start with the products needed for this card:
- Small Steps are Progress stamp set
- Dark Lime Green, Purple, Teal and Green, Gray Ink Pads
- Light Teal cardstock
- White Paint/Spray
- Copics
- Foam Adhesive
- Embellishments
- Thread (Pink in my Case)
To begin, I have trimmed the teal card base 4.25 x 5.50. The kraft overlay to 4.00 x 5.25. Then I used the stamps from Small Steps Are Progress and started from the center right and stamping all the way around to end on the center left making sure to alterate stamps and inks per design. I grabbed my Copics of the similar colors and added dots to really fill in the empty spots of the card.
Next, while allowing for the stamping to dry, on a seperate piece of teal cardstock, I stamped the sentiment “People love and Appreciate You with gray ink, trimmed to create a sentiment ribbon and added foam adhesive.
Putting the card together was super easy! The kraft cardstock was then mounted on to the teal with a sheet of foam adhesive, then the sentiment was placed on the center with more foam adhesive, however I created a circle with the thread and had it secured with the stick back for the sentiment.
The white paint splatters all over the card added a nice touch, and finished the whole thing by embellishing with sequins.
I thought the pastel and kraft turned out beatifully! Check out my full process video on how I created this card!
Thanks for stopping by today! We will see you next Tuesday for another Color Combos with Crystal.
xoxo!
