Watercolor Look with Solid Stamps | Pastel Color Combos with Crystal

Watercolor Look with Solid Stamps | Pastel Color Combos with Crystal

Hi there! Crystal here with my continuation of Pastels and Succulents card series. For today’s card project I have a fun and easy technique using solid stamps and making them look like I hand watercolored the images.  For this project we are of course using the Small Steps are Progress.

This color combination is using the same products we have been using in the last 2 cards with a bit of darker colors.

For this stamp set I have used the following products:

  • Small Steps are Progress
  • Black Cardstock
  • White Watercolor Cardstock
  • White Embossing Powder
  • Baby Blue Waterbased Ink
  • Zig Clean Color Markers
  • Water brushes

To start, I have trimmed the edges of the watercolor cardstock and stamped the aloe vera looking stamp with Grass Green Ink. With the waterbrush, I brushed over the stamped images to remove any lines. Then I added some Zig Clean Color onto an Acrylic block and grabbed the color with the waterbrush.  I repeated this process with the other two stamps,

To allow some time to dry, I set the watercolor panel aside and on a black strip of cardstock I stamped the sentiment ” People Love and Appreciate you” with embossing ink and covered it with white embosssing powder then heat set.

Now I am going to start on the circular background with baby blue watercolor. Using a blue ink, I stamped the ink onto the acrylic block and using the waterbrush and created a circular round with the watercolor.  I then splattered the watercolor all over the whole thing.

Then using a black cardstock strip edge onto the watercolor cardstock, and added the sentiment over the watercolor.  The card doesn’t need any real embellishments as it would take away from this watercolor technique.

I have the FULL video with coloring and all here:

Thanks,

Crystal
