It’s the Friday before Father’s Day and are you struggling for ideas? Well, today I’m offering a simple solution with fun background stamps. Hi, I’m Julissa of Paper Gems by Jules and today’s. blog is all about making masculine cards using background stamps and color.
- For the first card I used lots of new products by Unity!
- Stamp: 3D Cube Background
- Die: On My Mind Die
- Card Stock: Berrylicious and Black Licorice Luxury Card Stock, White Short Cut Card Base
- Ink: Copic Markers – BG78, BG57 & BG53
This card is so easy to make using all of these fun supplies. I started by stamping the 3D Cube background stamp on Berrylicious Luxury Card Stock using Gina K Amalgam Ink. Then I blended the Copics from dark to light only on the same shaped quadrilaterals (I like geometry). This will give you that 3D effect. You can do even more shadowing if you’d like for more of that dimensional look.
Stack and glue the sentiments together and adhere them to your card front. Layer that onto the die cut Black Licorice card piece. Lastly, I adhered it to a Unity White Short Cut card base. Boom… and this card is done. Super simple and can work for a variety of cards.
For the second card, I used the Over the Rainbow Background Stamp… but upside down! Flipping this image creates a fun retro vibe and I used the color of my upcoming wedding as inspiration: navy, rust and beige. I fussy cut around some of the bends to create a this drop down piece. Adding foam tape behind it creates another layer of depth. I die cut the word DAD and added it to the bottom… done and done!
These two new background stamps are the perfect addition to your stash for both masculine cards and many more.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you found some inspiration for any last minute Father’s Day cards you may need.
Until next week… Happy Crafting!
