Easy Monochromatic Card using May 2021 Whit Kit |

Easy Monochromatic Card using May 2021 Whit Kit |

Hi there, Crystal Thompson for today’s Color Combination post. Before I start, I have to let you know this will be my last Color Combination post on the Unity blog. I am stepping down from the blog writing but not from the team.

Anyways the color combination today is a monochromatic blue using the May Whit Kit and a few simple supplies such as watercolor pencils, Nuvo drops, blue ink and matching blue cardstock.

For this project I used:

-Simple Spring Pattern Paper Pack

-Polka Dot Stencil

-Beauty of Becoming Stamp Set

-Nuvo Glacier Paste

-Gold & Blue sequins

-Foam Adhesive

-Blue Ink

To begin, I have trimmed the solid blue card base to 5.50 inches by 4.25 inches. Then I cut one of the pattern paper sheets from Simple Spring paper pack to 5.50x inches by 4 inches.

With this pattern paper sheet, I placed the polka dot stencil over it and added a nice layer of the Nuvo Glitter paste included in the kit. Before it dries, I lifted the stencil to exposed another gorgeous layer of glitter paste polka dots.

Next, I stamped the floral stamp on to the solid blue cardstock with blue ink. Once dried,  I fuzzy cut the floral image.

With Nuvo watercolor pencils (included in a previous whit kit)  I flickered on the base of the florals to the outer petals with blue and purple shades. Same process with different shades of green on the leaves.

With clear Nuvo drops, I added it over the watercolor pencils coloring as it tinged the Nuvo and it reflects the color very nicely. While that dries, I stamped the blue sentiment from the Whit Kit stamp set and then trimmed to a nice rectangle and added foam adhesive on the back.

To put the card together, the glittered stencil pattern paper over the solid cardstock with foam to lift and give dimension. Next I added the stamped floral on the lower center with foam adhesive. Then with more foam adhesive added the sentiment slightly over the floral image.

For embellishment, I have two sets of sequins in shades of blue and a few gold gems to add more sparkle and break the monochromatic

I am loving how easy it is to make this card using the products of the Whit Kit and very few simple supplies.  One of my favorite things about Whitney’s kit is the ability to create a variety of projects and the full size supplies included in the kit.

I hope you enjoy it and I will see you around creating projects with more Unity releases.

Cheers!

Crystal
