Hi Crafty Friends! It’s Natasha here and I am super excited to be back with you today as a part of our July Floral challenge! I am loving all your gorgeous cards and I am feeling so inspired by your beautiful florals! Please continue to share them with us over on the Unity {show & tell} facebook group! For today’s card I am using the beautiful floral background stamp – Inked Florals. This background is the January 2021 Background of the month stamp. This card design can be done with any background floral image, so let’s get those background stamps out!
To begin I started with a piece of Bristol Smooth card stock. I wanted to create an ink blended background with a tropical feel. I chose the following oxide colors: Worn Lipstick, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, and Peacock Feathers. I blended these colors onto my card stock in the order as I shared them above. When my blending was complete, I added some water splatters and set the panel aside to dry.
Next I inked the background stamp with embossing ink. I then placed the stamp in my Misti stamping tool and stamped the imaged onto my ink blended card panel. I stamped the image 2 times to ensure good coverage of the stamp onto the paper. I then heat set the image using Midnight Embossing Powder – from WOW. I love the added flecks of gold in this powder! I then added a few splatters of black and gold watercolor to add a bit of interest and dimension to the background.
Next I die cut the hello die using both of the die cuts. The hello die is one of the 3 dies included in the Chic Script Salutations die set! I trimmed the outer hello in white card stock 1x and the center hello die 2x out of white card stock. I then glued the 2 hello words together. I wanted to add a bit of shine to the hello, I “smooshed” the hello in my embossing ink and then heat set using Midori Spice embossing powder from WOW. I completed this process 3x to ensure I had good coverage. I then glued the hello die cut down to the outer shadow die. I stamped a sub sentiment from the Hello Fresh Start Sentiment kit and trimmed this down.
To complete the card I trimmed a black piece of card stock and used an embossing folder with dots to add a bit of texture. Then I adhered the card panels to my card base once I determined the placement. I glued on both of the sentiments and added a few sequins for some more shine!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! Overall this was a quick card to put together and I can’t wait to see more of your beautiful florals! Be sure to share your gorgeous cards with us over on the Unity {show & tell} Facebook page! I will see you there! I will be back next week with more inspiration using floral stamps!
Crafty Hugs,
Natasha
