Hi Crafty Friends! It’s Natasha here and I am super excited to be back today sharing a floral card for our July Floral Challenge! I love all your gorgeous cards on our Unity Show and Tell page! Please continue to share them with us over on the Unity {show & tell} facebook group! For today’s card I am using the Funky Flowers slimline stamp! I love thinking of creative ways to use stamps! Today’s card has lots of bright colors and splatters! So let’s get started!
I started by taping a piece of Bristol Watercolor paper onto a hard board. I always tape down my paper to help prevent warping. To create the bright, colorful background I used a combination of Distress Oxide Ink colors. I gently swiped the color directly onto the paper. I then used my spritz bottle to get the color moving. I used my WOW heat tool on the low setting to help get the color moving. I continued this process until I had the background colors I was looking for. I used the following oxide colors: Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Salty Ocean, and Mermaid Lagoon.
I allowed the panel to completely dry before stamping. I chose to use the Funky Flowers slimline stamp for my floral image this week! I love that you you can use sections of a slimline stamp onto an A2 card base. I stamped the image using my Misti stamping tool using Versafine Clair Nocturne Ink. I then heat embossed the floral images using a clear embossing powder. I stamped the image 2 times onto 2 sections of the card front. I wanted to add a bit of dimension to the florals, I added color using colored pencils and my Tombow markers. I originally had colored pencils only, but wanted the “pops” of color to be brighter, so I added a bit of Tombow marker!
To complete the card I used my metallic watercolors in many different shades of color to add more dimension. I splattered the colors directly to my card panel. Next I chose the sentiment “I like you a lot.” I heat embossed this in white onto black cardstock. I trimmed the sentiment using a sentiment die. Finally I trimmed the card panel using a Gina Marie Designs die and adhered my card together. I added a few sequins for added shine!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I’ll be back next week with more floral inspiration! Please continue to share your cards with us over on the Unity {show & tell} facebook group!
