Hi friends! It is Natasha and I am super excited to be back with you today! I can’t believe we are at the end of July already! I hope you are having a wonderful summer! I have enjoyed our floral challenge this month and I hope you have too! I have loved seeing all your gorgeous cards over on the Unity {show & tell} facebook group! We still have a few days left! For today’s card I am using 2 stamp sets from Unity: June Rose and In My Thoughts, Girl. I love both kits and have been excited to color these!
I started by stamping the leaves onto Neenah card stock using an alcohol friendly ink. Next I created a mask for the single leaf, placed this on top of the leaf, and stamped the rose image. I also stamped a single rose on an extra sheet of paper. Next I added some light ink blending around the rose and leaves using Spun Sugar Distress Oxide. I wanted to create a soft blend around the floral images.
Next I started to work on my coloring. For today’s coloring I am using Tombow alcohol markers. I worked in sections of the rose, doing one petal at a time. I work from darkest to lightest when using alcohol markers. I am still learning, but truly enjoyed the process, as I love this gorgeous rose! Once my coloring was complete I did cut the single rose. I then stamped the sentiment from the In My Thoughts, Girl set. I trimmed the panel using a rectangle die from Gina Marie Designs. I adhered the panel to my card base. I popped up the single rose with foam tape and added a few sequins to complete today’s card!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I can’t wait to see more of your florals! Be sure to share them with us over on the Unity {show & tell} facebook group! I will be back next week with an all new challenge theme for August! I am excited!
