Hi Crafty Friends! It’s Natasha here and I am super excited to host the July Challenge this month happening over on the Unity {show & tell} facebook group! For the month of July let’s bring out those floral stamps and create some gorgeous cards together! Unity has so many amazing floral stamps, so let’s get crafty and create some beautiful cards with our floral stamps!
For today’s card I am combining several stamp sets from Unity to create a slimline card. I am using the following stamp sets: SMAK March 2020 – Growth is a Process, Another Name for Love, and Hello Fresh Start. I just love this milk can and I couldn’t wait to add some floral stems to it! So let’s get started!
I started by stamping all of my images onto Bristol Smooth Card stock. I stamped all the images using Verasfine Clair Ink in Pinecone. I then heat set the floral images and the butterfly using clear embossing powder. I added some WOW embossing powder to the milk can for added texture as well and heat set this. I used my Zig Clean Color Brush markers to color the flowers and the butterfly. When I use a water based marker I always tape my paper down to a board to help prevent warping. I work in layers when I watercolor and allow each layer to dry in between. I added several layers of color, allowing time to dry. Once these were all set, I trimmed the images using my Scan and Cut.
I then started to work on my milk can. I just adore the vintage feel of this can, don’t you? I used Distress Oxide Inks to add color to the stamped image. I used the following oxides: Aged Mahogany, Gathered Twigs, and Walnut Stain. I wanted to create a vintage feel, so I blended these 3 colors until I had the look I was going for. I then fussy cut the milk can.
I then die cut a Nested Scallop slimline die using 2 sizes onto Neenah 80 lb. white card stock. On the smaller slimline die cut I used a stencil and blended sections of the stencil onto the card stock using Tattered Rose Distress Oxide. I then chose a sentiment from Hello Fresh Start and stamped this onto white card stock using Versafine Clair in Nocturne. I trimmed this down into a sentiment strip and set it aside.
Finally it was time to adhere my card together. I started with the largest slimline die cut panel and glued this onto my slimline base, then the smaller die cut panel was next. I then determined placement for the milk can, flowers, sentiment, and butterfly. I used a combination of glue and foam tape to adhere these to my card. I then added a few gems for added sparkle!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! Be sure to head over to the Unity {show & tell} group to join in on the fun! I can’t wait to see all of your gorgeous floral cards this month! I will be back next week for some more floral inspiration!
