Hi Crafty friends! It is Natasha and I am so glad to be back with you today! I can’t believe we are at the end of August! Summer sure did go by quickly! I have had a lot of fun this month creating Summer themed cards and I hope you did too! Thank you for sharing your gorgeous and creative work with us over on the Unity {show & tell} Facebook group! We have a few more days of August left, so let’s hang onto summer and be sure to share your gorgeous cards with us! For today’s project I am using the Grow, Evolve, Transform Whit Kit from April 2020! I love this kit and just recently added it to my collection! Let’s get started!
I started by stamping the 2 butterfly images onto Fabriano Hot Press paper. I stamped them using embossing ink and then heat set them using gold embossing powder. I love the hot press paper for my Karin markers! I taped my paper down to a board and watercolored the butterflies using my Karin markers. The details in the butterflies are so beautiful, I was able to do just a couple layers of color on them! I set these aside to dry, once dry I trimmed these using my scan and cut.
Next I looked through my pre-made gelli plate backgrounds. I love having some colorful backgrounds ready to go! It makes for a quick and easy card! I wanted to add a bit more interest to the background. I stamped the large butterfly from the kit (on gelli plate background) and heat embossed this using the gold embossing powder. Then I chose a stencil from my stash and used embossing ink/powder to add the texture and dimension around the butterfly. I continued to move the stencil and layer the powder in areas to create a fun and textured background. Next I chose a sentiment from the kit and stamped this in Versafine ink and used clear embossing powder. I die cut the panel using a rectangle die. Finally I adhered the panel to my card base, foam mounted the butterflies and added a few gems!
Thank you so much for stopping by today and joining me in the August challenge! I had a lot of fun with you! I will be back next week for our September challenge! I am excited!
Crafty Hugs,
Natasha
