Hi Crafty friends! It is Natasha and I am super excited to be back with you today for our Thursday challenge! I am loving your Summer cards and seeing your beautiful inspiration on how you celebrate summer! Thank you for sharing your gorgeous and creative work! Be sure to share your summer themed cards with us over on over on the Unity {show & tell} facebook group! So for today’s card I am using the August 2021 Whit Kit – Just Keep Swimming! I love this month’s kit and used mainly only supplies from the kit! These kits are a great value and such a fun way to add crafty goodies to your stash! So let’s get started!
I started by stamping the adorable turtle from the kit. I stamped the turtle onto Canson XL watercolor card. I stamped the image using embossing ink. Next I heat set the image using gold embossing powder. I then colored the turtle using my Karin Markers. Once my coloring was complete I trimmed the image with my scan and cut.
Next I taped a piece of watercolor card stock onto my hard board. I used the Nuvo Shimmer powder (Atlantis Burst) included in the kit to create the background! This powder is amazing and so beautiful! I gently tapped a small amount in various sections of the paper. I then spritzed it with water. I allowed it to dry, then reapplied again to gain some more movement and color. Once it was dry, I stamped the Ocean Waves background in various sections with embossing ink and heat set using Mai Tai powder. I did cut this in half once dried, to create my second card.
Next I started to work on the shaker pouch elements! The kit this month includes the shaker pouches and I was so excited to try these! Let me tell you, they are awesome! The pouches are 5×7 inches, so I did cut them in half so I could create 2 cards using 1 pouch. Since I cut it in half, I just used strong adhesive on the one side (since it was cut) to ensure it would close! These pouches are amazing though! I added my nuvo background inside, closed 3 sides on the pouch, added shaker elements, then adhered the last side together.
To complete my card I die cut a piece of pattern paper from the kit with a scallop die and adhered this to the card base. I adhered the shaker pouch on top. Next I die cut two circles and heat embossed one using the Mai Tai powder. Finally I adhered the turtle and the circle elements. To complete the card I chose a sentiment from the kit and heat embossed this in gold powder!
Thank you so much for stopping by today!
Be sure to share your summer themed cards with us over on over on the Unity {show & tell} facebook group! I can’t wait to see them! I’ll be back next week!

Natasha
