Hi Crafty friends! It is Natasha and I am super excited to be back with you today sharing a fall inspired card using several kits from Unity! For today’s card I am using the Kit of the Month – August 2020/Count Your Blessings, In My Thoughts Girl, and a previous Layers of Life Kit (March 2014).
Thank you for sharing your fall themed cards with us on the Unity {show & tell} Facebook group page and adding them to our Fall themed album! Keep sharing your beautiful cards, we have 1 more week and then we will start a new challenge with fellow design team member. I am excited to see what’s next! So let’s get started!
For today’s card I started by creating my background. I used several colors of acrylic sprays to create a fun and colorful background. I started with a piece of mixed media paper and started to spray colors in different sections of the paper. The acrylic sprays dry quickly. Once my background was dry, I added the text background stamp. This stamp is from a previous Layers of Life kit – Bring it to Life/ March 2014. You can use any text background stamp to do this step! Unity has so many amazing text stamps! I stamped in random sections of the background using 2 stamps from this kit.
Next I wanted to add a bit more texture to the background. To do this I used a stencil from my stash and applied gauche in different colors through the stencil in various sections. I allowed this to dry. Once it was dry I chose the large leaf stamp from the August 2020 KOM. I stamped the image across the background by placing it in various sections and rotating the direction of the stamp. I chose 2 ink colors, as well as embossing 2 of the leaves.
To complete the card I used metallic watercolors to splatter the background. I love the added splatters and the dimension this gives the piece! I then die cut the word blessed using the die from the Blessed & happy Everything stamp/die set. I die cut it 3 times and then adhered the die cuts together. I chose a sub sentiment and stamped it in black ink. This sentiment is from In My Thoughts Girl. I adhered the 2 sentiments to the panel using both liquid glue and foam tape. I trimmed the panel using a slimline die from Gina Marie designs, as well as a coordinating card stock as a mat behind the panel. I then adhered this to a slimline card base.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! Keep those fall cards coming! I love seeing them!
Crafty Hugs,
Natasha
