These kits are always AMAZING, and they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first thing I purchased from Unity, and what got me hooked on Unity to begin with. Today I’m sharing my first card with the adorable new October 2021 Kit of the Month! This kit starts to transition into those cold and cozy days of winter – and I couldn’t resist putting this little giraffe with his cozy stocking cap to use right away!
I started off by choosing my pattern paper for this card. At first, I was going to use the layered strips as banners coming down from the top, and as I played with the arrangement, they fell into this place, and I knew it was perfect. I taped it in place with temporary adhesive, trimmed off the excess, and then mounted it with foam adhesive.
I colored the giraffe in coordinating colors so it matched with my pattern paper – I often do this, choose my paper first, then color to match. Sometimes it’s easier than coloring and looking for pattern paper to match afterwards!
I used a layered frame die to cut my sentiment out, and added a sprinkle of enamel dots as a finishing touch!
