Hello there crafty friend!
Crystal here from Tawny Owl Paperie and today I’m super excited to be hosting the October challenge over at the Unity Show & Tell!! This month’s challenge is All Things Halloween!! I love making Halloween cards but it’s also fun to make tags, scrapbook pages, journal pages… oh, and don’t forget little treat bags for those adorable trick-or-treaters!
Today I’m sharing a fun Halloween card using the beautiful new A Real Witch stamp that just released and I just had to pair it up with the new Coffee Components stamps… they were made to go together. Well not really, but you know what I mean!
I started by ink smooshing Twisted Citron and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks onto my glass mat and dabbing my white card stock into the ink. I love the surprise when using this technique! If you like a more controlled ink smooshing you can always dab an acetate sheet into your ink and then apply it to your card stock. Either way works and makes for beautiful backgrounds.
I love how the purple and green mixed to make a wicked brown… a perfect touch for a little coffee element! Next I stamped the gorgeous witch from the A Real Witch stamps and a few coffee rings and splatters from the Coffee Components stamps in Gina K Black Amalgam ink.
I stamped the witch again on a scrap of white card stock and colored her up with the following Copic markers:
Skin ~ E000, E00, E11
Hair ~ C00, C3, C5
Nails / Ring ~ YG11, YG13, V01, V04
Hat ~ N0, N1, N4, N6. N8, V0000, V01, V04
Clothes ~ YG11, YG13, V0000, V01, V04
Mug ~ C00, C3
I die cut the ink smooshed background with a die from my stash {sadly, I’m not sure what it’s called or where it’s from}. I happened to find the card front in my file folder already with the die cut adhered. I just recently moved and I’m still unpacking my studio so I was very happy to find this tucked in with my card stock! The die is called Leafy Frame and it’s from Gina Marie Design.
To finish off the card, I stamped the fun sentiment with Gina K. Black Amalgam ink. I trimmed it cutting the left side at an angle. I mat it on black card stock and trimmed off the top and the angled side. A great trick to give sentiments some dimension!
Thanks SO much for stopping by today! I sure hope you’ll join in the fun over at the Unity Show & Tell group! I can’t wait to see all your amazing and fun Halloween creations! I’ll see you all back here next Thursday with another fun Halloween card!
