Good morning! I’m back today for the weekly Monday feature for me here on the Unity Stamp Company Blog! So happy to be featuring the AMAZING Unity Kit of the Month set on Mondays here on the blog. These kits are always AMAZING, and they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first thing I purchased from Unity, and what got me hooked on Unity to begin with. Who DOESN’T love getting a happy package of stamps in the mail every month, right? And these kits just keep getting better and better. Today’s card is all about the cozy fall feelings we love – and this fun wreath image does such a great job of capturing all of those!
I started off with a panel of watercolor paper, and stamped both that fun wreath image and the sentiment in black watercolor friendly ink – in this case, Versafine Onyx Black – using my MISTI to stamp a few times on the texture of the watercolor paper for a good impression.
Next, I added some ink blending around the edges of the card with 3 colors of distress ink – Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade, and Fossilized Amber – then misted it with water and let the colors blend together a bit. I also added some splatters of Perfect Pearls mixed with water for a bit more texture and shine.
Once all that dried, I added some texture to the edges with a distressing tool, matted it with some orange cardstock, then popped up with foam adhesive on a white cardbase. Finished off with a few Ivory pearls.
