Stepping up the Background | The Anemone Greetings

October 5, 2021 - by Sandhya Iyer

Stepping up the Background | The Anemone Greetings

Hello crafty friends! Sandhya here and I am back with some inspiration on stepping up the background. Today I am featuring the brand new, Anemone Greetings stamp set designed by Graciellie Design with some watercoloring.

Stepping up the Background

First, I stamped the floral cluster using Gina K Amalgam ink in hot-pressed watercolor paper.  Next, I watercolored it using Viviva colorsheet. Then, I cut it out using my Brother Scan n cut machine. I also stamped the sentiment on a scrap piece of white cardstock and die cut it using a circle die.

Next, for the background, I used a stencil and directly ink blended through it onto a white A2 card base. I used the leftover ink to gently blend around the sentiment circle.  I was going to add the flowers and sentiment but wanted to add a bit of a mix media twist to it. So I stamped the Hope words from the Hope in Uncertainty KOM randomly over the background.

I love how this adds so much more interest and takes the background to the next level. Finally, I finished off with some black and white splatters to tie it all together. Oh, and yes, I did add a few sequins for some bling.

Thank You
