Good morning! I’m back today for the weekly Monday feature for me here on the Unity Stamp Company Blog! So happy to be featuring the AMAZING Unity Kit of the Month set on Mondays here on the blog. These kits are always AMAZING, and they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first thing I purchased from Unity, and what got me hooked on Unity to begin with. Who DOESN’T love getting a happy package of stamps in the mail every month, right? And these kits just keep getting better and better. You can read all the details and info to sign up HERE, and see this month’s kit as well.
I know last week’s card featured some watercolored florals – but I had so much fun with those, and…there were more gorgeous florals to play with, so I decided to give them the watercolor treatment as well!
Much like last week, I stamped the image on watercolor paper with my MISTI and Versafine Onyx black ink. I used my MISTI so that I could stamp several times on the texture of the watercolor paper for a clear impression on the texture of the paper.
This time I just randomly mixed my colors on the petals, I used a deep blue shade, a purple/blue color, and a magenta/purple color. I made sure to keep each flower wet as I put the colors on the petals, and let them just blend on their own for a pretty variegated look. I finished painting, added a super soft wash of green on the background.
I mounted that panel off-set on the top left corner on a white cardbase, then heat embossed one of the sentiments from the kit in white on black cardstock, trimmed into a thin strip, and mounted with foam over the florals, leaving the edge hanging off to the right, to pull all the card together!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope to see you back here next week – have a wonderful week!
