Good morning! I’m back today for the weekly Monday feature for me here on the Unity Stamp Company Blog! So happy to be featuring the AMAZING Unity Kit of the Month set on Mondays here on the blog. These kits are always AMAZING, and they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first thing I purchased from Unity, and what got me hooked on Unity to begin with. Who DOESN’T love getting a happy package of stamps in the mail every month, right? And these kits just keep getting better and better. You can read all the details and info to sign up HERE, and see this month’s kit as well.
Last week I made a card with more of a Valentine’s Day feel – and while today I jumped squarely back into winter theme, I had to laugh when I noticed how similar the color scheme was!
Today’s card features a fun stamped background with just 3 colors of ink, and some second generation stamping for some more color variation!. I started by stamping my sentiment in black, then chose a red, aqua, and coral colored dye ink. I inked the stamp up once with each color, then starting at the top and moving towards the bottom, I stamped it 3 times. This gave a deeper and bolder shade, then a medium shade, and then a softer more shadowed shade of color. I used some scrap paper to ink up and stamp off the colors a bit to do some additional soft colored snowflakes scattered around the background as well.
I trimmed off one side of that panel, then adhered some varying sizes of colored cardstock strips along the left side of a cardbase. This was a great way to use up some scraps, and add some interest and texture to this card. I then adhered the panel with foam adhesive on the right side of the card panel.
Finally, for a touch of sparkle, I added some jewels in varying sizes to the centers of several of the snowflakes. I didn’t do every single snowflake, to avoid it getting too cluttered, but definitely the more visible ones!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope to see you back here next week – have a wonderful week!
