Hello, Gaylynn here. Using Brusho crystal color powders results in vibrant watercolor cards. Today on the Unity blog, I am sharing a set of cards using this colorful watercolor technique.
I used the same process for all four color themes for a total of 16 vibrant watercolor cards, as part of my holiday card making.
Sentiments:
Happy Holidays
Merry Christmas
I made a quick video tutorial HERE showing the process for this project.
The video shows two of the four shades for these vibrant watercolor cards. Here are examples of color variations using the powders.
Helpful tips:
These are helpful tips for making vibrant watercolor cards. To begin, pre-trim or die-cut watercolor panels and sentiments. Then stamp onto the watercolor cardstock using white pigment ink. Also, add white or clear embossing powder over the ink and heat set. Next, using a spray bottle, spray water over the stamped watercolor panel. Carefully, sprinkle a bit of Brusho crystal color powder over the wet panel. Follow with more water spray over the powder. The color blends with water. Next, blot puddles and then heat set the panel or leave to dry overnight. Once dry, add black paint splatters for contrast and then dry again. For interest, trim or die-cut an edge near the bottom of the panel. Finally, layer the watercolor panel and the sentiments over the card base, to finish.
Four different Brusho vibrant watercolor cards were made. The last two colors are leaf green and brilliant red. The red diluted to more of a pink in my example.
