I am up on the Unity Blog every Tuesday with a card project and today I am sharing this pair of butterfly cards made with the new slimline butterfly stamp designed by Ann Corbiere-Scott for Unity. And once again, I went with a blue and yellow theme as I am delivering most of my cards to the Ukrainian community. If you are making cards for Ukraine and are looking for someone to send them to, I can help. I have a couple of Ukrainian friends locally here in California, and through them, I have found a huge community of Ukrainian people who could surely use a ray of hope in these dark times.
Butterfly Card Pair
I started by stamping the butterfly on a piece of watercolor cardstock. Then I Cut it up in half along the center and watercolored the two halves of the butterfly using Altenew watercolor brush markers. I added splatters and trimmed the edges using the deckle edge trimmer. Next, I stamped the sentiment and ink blended around the edges of the strip with Distress Inks. Then, I cut it into tags and added eyelets. I also added some May Arts burlap twine and assembled my card. Here is a quick video showing my process –
