Faith and Hope Mixed Media Card

March 15, 2022 - by Sandhya Iyer

Faith and Hope Mixed Media Card

Hello friends! Sandhya here, and today I am sharing my faith and hope mixed media card with you. It has been an internal struggle for me to create and share cheerful cards when the world is in turmoil and my heart goes out to the people affected by war. However, as I think more about what is happening in Ukraine, I felt the need to make art that is therapeutic and helps me share the message of hope. So, I made this card to share on the Unity Blog today.

Key Ingredients

  • Stamps – Growth is a Process – Unity SMAK 3/20, Cube Background
  • Lindy’s Magical – Lara’s Wile Malve
  • Dies – Sizzix – Tim Holtz – Thinlits Dies – Wildflower Stems 3
  • Distress Oxide Ink – Villanous Potion
  • Washi tape

Faith and Hope Mixed Media Card

I started by heat embossing the cube background on a piece of watercolor cardstock. Then I played with some Lindy’s Magicals to add color to the background. I went on to stamp the images with Distress Oxides and added bits of Washi randomly. Then I adhered the die cuts and sentiment words to the panel. For added interest, I also added a ribbon bow with a sunflower charm to the card. Finally, I used a white gel pen to add details and circles to the card front. I finished off with some white splatters.

Thank You
