Today is release day at Unity Stamp Company! I am super excited to be sharing my double background cards featuring the brand new stamps on the Unity Blog a bit early so you get an early peek. As always, I am sharing it here on my blog for those who missed it there. The best thing about Unity releases is the wide variety and the fact that there is always something for every type of crafter. Today’s release doesn’t disappoint either. Be on the lookout for an awesome bearded guy, the adorable giraffe trio, gorgeous florals, grungy background, and scene-building stamps all in one awesome release later today.
The Guy with The Beard
For my first card, I stamped and cut out the guy with the beard with my Brother Scan n Cut machine. I added a hint of color to this short and hat with Copic Markers. Next, I adhered him to a gel printable background. If you are wondering what gel printables are, they are digital gel prints that you can find here. While it may not interest the gel-plate experts out there, it is a God-send for people like me who end up with 100 gel prints in the trash before we can get one that we like …. LOL.
Anyways, I created yet another background for the guy with the grungy background. I stamped and added Distress Glaze to an ink blended background using the Hit the Brick stamp. Finally, I popped up the sentiment strip and adhered it to a card base.
Giraffe Trio
Next, I played with the Giraffe Trio set. You can see some adorable cards featuring all 3 giraffes. However, this one particular guy caught my interest and went well with the sentiment I wanted to use. Once again, the same steps of stamping, cutting, and coloring are followed by creating a background or actually two. This time I picked a polka dot background from the Pink Lemonade pattern paper pack. The 2nd background is again an ink blended panel that I die cut to create a window. I used a lot of foam tape to build a lot of dimension as I assembled the card.
