Woodland card with embossing, ink blending & masking.

June 15, 2022 - by Gaylynn

Woodland card with embossing, ink blending & masking.

Hello, it’s Gaylynn.  Today, I am sharing a friendship card with embossing, ink blending & masking to create this scene.

This card was made into a woodland scene with a friendship theme.  I love the look of the white embossing, ink blending & masked onto the card front.

Sentiment:  Happy to have a friend like you.

I made a quick video tutorial HERE showing the process for this project.

Helpful tips:
Here are helpful tips for this card with embossing, ink blending & masking techniques.  To begin, stamp the trees with embossing ink onto one side of a prepared card front.  Also, add white embossing powder and heat set the trees.  Next, mask the four edges of the tree panel using repositionable tape like Post-It tape.  Then, add three shades of distress ink blending from green near the trees to light and dark blue.  Optional, add paint splatters over the trees scene in white and black.  Once dry, remove the masking tape.  For the sentiments, die-cut the happy then stamp and trim the longer sentiment.   Finally, layer it all onto the card base, to finish.

Here is another look.

Supplies:

Unity Stamp Co.
Winter Wonderland Walk
Blessed & Happy Everything {stamp & die set}
Postage Stamp {nesting dies}

Also, distress ink pads in tumbled glass, faded jeans and bundled sage; white embossing powder, watermark ink, distress paint and repositionable tape.
