Hi friends,
I’m back this month with an easy coloring technique that will help your Unity florals POP! Today I will be using a few products from the July sentiment kit! To shop this sentiment kit, click here.
I stamped the beautiful floral frmo the kit in permanent black ink as well as the sentiments in the upper right corner. It’s important to use permanent black ink when you’re coloring so that the ink doesn’t bleed.
Next, I colored the flowers using my Copic markers in B32, B34, RV11, RV34, YG03, and YG17. I used the darker markers to add shadow where needed, and the lighter colors to highlight. When that was finished I highlighted around the edge of the flower with Y21. That highlight helped the color of the flowers stand out even more. I kept the coloring very simple because these petals are small. But, they are small yet mighty! They are so detailed thanks to Unity’s amazing red rubber quality, that you don’t need to do much to compliment these beauties!
When my coloring was finished, I decided to add a touch of gold embossing powder where the black splatters were on the stamp. That added a touch of shine and completed the look! I trimmed the image and placed it over a black panel slightly larger. Then I die cut a colorful background panel using a scalloped die. I thought that pop of color would accent the flowers nicely! I finished by placing everything over a black card base.
With this type of kit, you have plenty of options to get creative with your accent pieces, so go ahead and color several images and place a different sentiment on each! Change up your colors as well!
I’m so glad you joined me today!
