Hi there, today I’m sharing with you the August Background Stamp of the Month! If you like autumn season, then you’re in for a real treat!!! Here is the kit!
I fell madly in love with this stamp and how it is framed in the middle with foliage flowing over the frame. Sigh. Ok, done staring at that stamp. Now for my card!
This was calling for me to color in all the lovely shades of fall, so I grabbed my Copic markers and went to town! First step was to stamp the image onto a white card panel using permanent black ink. Permanent black ink is good for alcohol marker coloring because it won’t bleed. Next I started to color each piece, one at a time, making sure that there was equal coverage of color over the card panel. That’s important so that the eyes move freely around the image!
When I was finished coloring, I stamped the sentiment and then added purple and gold splatters over everything (I protected the sentiment though). Then I trimmed the panel and adhered it to a black card base so that just a touch of black was peeking out from behind the design.
The coloring wasn’t difficult at all! If you are a watercolorist instead, you could stamp the design onto watercolor paper and color it that way. That would be beautiful as well!
