What do you do with leftover fall ephemera, bits of paper and stamped images? Use them on a fall art journal page! The primary focus is the Embrace the Change stamp set from Unity Stamp Company paired with the gorgeous new Distress Mica Stains and Distress Inks. Check out this awesome stamp set and an amazing sale at Unity Stamp Company.
If you missed my previous post from where I got these leftovers, you can find it here. The mica spray technique is inspired by a Tim Holtz live a few weeks ago. You just have to spritz the mica sprays on a craft mat and use that as an ink pad to stamp with rubber stamps. So I had a stamping party with the Love and Wisdom stamps set and the solid leaves from the Embrace the Change stamp set. I tried it on kraft, watercolor, and mixed media paper and it looks amazing on all three papers. You can watch the reel on my Instagram page (@sanjuscreations) for a better idea of how the mica stamping shines in the light. Be warned, it is addicting!
For the background, I stamped and then ink blended around it. Then, I created a focal point with the stamped leaf and sentiment stamp. Next, I added another layer with a stamped inky piece of paper after I distressed the edges. Finally, I added the little piece of inked cheese cloth and a butterfly rubon transfer to finish my page.
I thoroughly enjoyed this project and hope you like it as much as I do. Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful day!
