Hi friends, I’m back filling in for Heather while she is on break. Today I’m going to share a beautiful color combination that will give you the most gorgeous evening sky ever and it’s so easy to do! We’re going to do some silhouette stamping with our sky using the August Kit of the Month, so let’s get started shall we?
First step is to frame a focal point around the area where we will create the evening sky. I achieved that deckled edge look that you see in the photo above by ripping a jagged edge off masking tape and adhering the edges onto a 5.5×4.25 piece of Tim Holtz Distress Heavyweight Cardstock. I used that cardstock because I plan to ink the evening sky using distress oxide inks, and this cardstock gives me the smoothest blend! You can find that cardstock HERE.
Next, I ink blend from lightest to darkest colors within the masked area using distress oxide inks in Tattered Rose, Victorian Velvet, Seedless Preserves, Unchartered Mariner, and Black Soot. This combination is PERFECT for an evening sky look! You can see a close up below of the beautiful colors, they blend so well together, and they create even more colors as you blend!
Before I stamped my image over the inked-up area, I applied a light amount of water with my spray bottle to create those water spots that you see in the photo above. Then I dried the card panel with my heat tool and stamped the image from August’s Kit of the Month, entitled Hope is Strong, using black Archival ink. I had to stamp the image 2 times to get a good crisp image. I just LOVE how the image of her sitting on a bench watching the evening leaves looks so peaceful. I can just smell the crisp fall air!
Th August kit is filled with the loveliest fall images and heartfelt sentiments. The sentiment I chose says “You are one in a million.” You can find the Kit of the Month HERE.
Thanks for stopping by!
