It’s time for another post on the Unity Blog and today I am sharing an artist trading card with a matching envelope. The Accept, Let Go, Have Faith stamp set that released last week inspired me to make this set. Standard ATCs are 2.5″ X 3.5″ in size. So I started with a pieces of watercolor paper cut to size. I embossed it using a Tim Holtz 3D embossing folder and ink blended to create the base of the ATC.
Then I stamped and watercolored the butterfly image using Lindy’s Magicals on a piece of watercolor paper. Next, I stamped another sentiment from Dreamin’Daze and cut it into a little fishtail banner. I added a piece of lace for layering and attached everything on my ATC base using my sewing machine. I went around the ATC edges with distress inks to increase the grunge factor.
I stamped the Wings and Petals Ledger on some glassine paper and die cut it to make the envelope. I created little ephemera using stamps from Soul Mail and the sentiment from Accept, Let go, Have faith to decorate the envelope. Finally, I added some twine with a butterfly charm to make a wrap around closure. Visit me on Instagram to see my reel showing how this works.
