Nativity Variegated Snow Card Background + Embossing

December 7, 2022 - by Gaylynn

Nativity Variegated Snow Card Background + Embossing

Hello, it’s Gaylynn. Today, I am sharing an embossed nativity scene window card with a variegated snow card background.  This background technique adds beautiful shimmering detail.

With this technique, dark color cardstock works nicely, or even darker ink blending as well.

Sentiment:
All is calm.  All is bright.

Here is a video tutorial for this project.

Helpful tips:
Here are helpful tips for making this window card with a variegated snow card background.  To begin, die-cut a rectangle frame cover piece in white.  Also, die-cut a blue cardstock piece in the same size as the frame window.  Next, stamp and trim the sentiment panel.  Add antistatic powder to the blue die-cut panel to prepare for embossing.  Then, stamp the nativity scene and the star onto the dark blue cardstock, using embossing or watermark ink.  Also, heat emboss the scene in gold.   Next, mask the stamping and then heat emboss a snow background layer.  Once set, stamp the snow again a bit offset, using white dye ink or white embossing.  (The white may take on the color or the cardstock if not embossed.)  Once dry, wipe away any excess powder using a dry paper towel.  Next, layer the frame over the card base using foam tape and glue.  Also, add the blue panel with glue only inside the window frame.  Finally, add the sentiment, to finish.

This is another look.
