Happy Friday! This is Julissa of Paper Gems by Jules ready to set your craft weekend off with a lot of love and a little puppy! Today I’m using the new-ish “Heart to Heart” stamp set to create a fun background for the sweet pup from “Love Puppies” stamp set. Let’s spread some love with another sweet Valentine for someone just as cute as this puppy!
To start, I die cut black card stock using the Scallops & Stitched Rectangles Nesting Dies. Since I was going to cover most of it with the other card front, I made use of the interior and die cut a scalloped heart using the Dashes & Frills Heart Dies. I used the slightly smaller stitched heart to die cut white card stock and stamped the “I Woof You” sentiment from the “Love Puppies” stamp set.
To create the background, I die cut white card stock using the Stitched Rectangle Die. Using four different red inks, I stamped four different hearts from the “Heart to Heart” stamp set creating a loving background. I also stamped the adorable puppy with the bow and colored her using Copic markers. I chose to make her a light grey to keep with the black, white and red color theme.
Once I fussy cut the dog and laid it over the heart, there was a little gap, so I took some scrap and colored it grey and placed it in that middle spot before adhering it to the card front with some foam tape.
Final touch, I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops on the nose to make it shiny. Isn’t this pup the sweetest?! Make time to spread some love, even if it’s just sending a note… show some love.
