Hello, friends! Welcome to, Tuesdays Thoughts with Bobbie Sue. I am so excited to be spending the 3rd Tuesday of every month with you!
If you’ve followed me for any length of time, over at Two38 Creations, I am sure you’ve discovered my heart for meaningful cards. I am forever grateful to Unity for allowing me a creative means by which I can share my heart and my thoughts.
As I was visiting some older makes, I was quickly reminded of a very moving series I created in 2018 entitled “She Believed” using several Unity stamp sets. (You may visit that series here if you’d like.) Here’s a little glimpse into what I created for that series. There are more photos using these images, as well as, a list of all stamps used in this project.
Revisiting this makes me want to go pull out all of these stamps again!
I knew immediately I wanted to use the “She” set by Donna Downey. Creating something touching and meaningful is what drives my desire to both make and send cards. As a result, it has brought joy to both myself and the recipient.
I’ve used sentiments from the set “She”, as well as, the June 2017 Sentiment Kit called She Never Says Never .
For this first card, I use the delicate Bell flowers from “Just Because” by Angie Blom.
So loving the blended blues and purples of the flowers. I used this sentiment on a card several years ago to encourage my daughter. This card will be going out to her, as well. Wanting nothing more than for her to be reminded the power of her thoughts toward herself…
You’ll notice I often use Unity’s Scallop Die on many of my cards. Be sure to keep an eye out in the near future for this die set to be back in stock. I use this set on so many of my cards. This is one you will want to add it to your collection!
I’ve heat embossed the sentiment and the image on both of my cards. I do this with most of my cards as it enriches the stamping of the image/sentiment. As well as, gives the card a lovely texture. Do you notice the lovely stripes of liquid gold and liquid white along the petals? Last year I discovered a small bottle of liquid gold by Windsor and Newton and find myself using it quite often. Also, Copic has a liquid white with a brush tip applicator that I absolutely love!
For my 2nd card, I used an Angie Blom set called “Sending love & prayers Sunflower“.
I’ve created several cards using this sunflower stamp.
I love the look of a loose water color wash surrounding the image. Loose water coloring allows me to create freely with little to no pressure.
Another powerful sentiment. Personally, this is a card I would keep on display as a reminder to fill my heart with goodness and gratitude.
My hope is that you will add these sets your collection. Above all, my prayer, as you use the She sets, is you’ll be reminded of the beauty and strength YOU possess when you believe in yourself.
If this post has inspired you to create and send a card with meaning, please tag me as you post in our Show N Tell group. I would love to see your heart in card form!
Thank you so much for spending time with me today.
Until next time, I look forward to more Tuesday’s Thoughts, right here, next month.
Blessings,
Bobbie Sue
