Watercolor Valentine card + using scraps.

January 18, 2023 - by Gaylynn

Watercolor Valentine card + using scraps.

Hello and welcome.  It’s Gaylynn.  Today, I am sharing a watercolor Valentine card featuring big hearts and a coordinating frame layer.  I used scraps from a previous project.

These big candy hearts will surely make an impact on Valentine’s Day or love occasions.

Sentiment:  Happy Valentine’s Day

Helpful tips:
In summary, these are helpful tips for making this watercolor Valentine card.  To begin, prepare an A2-sized card base.  Then, make a frame or accents using leftover scraps like I did.  Or, stamp doilies in different colors and then using a rectangle die, cut out the center of a card panel to make a frame.  Next, stamp two hearts onto watercolor cardstock.  Also, stamp the sentiment onto one of the hearts.  Then, add watercolor to both using coordinating colors.  Once dried, fussy cut (cut out) the hearts.  I added black marker shading around the edges to make the hearts pop.  Finally, layer and adhere it all onto the card front, to finish.

Additionally, the following photo is of a previous project using the negative of the frame die-cuts.
To view the previous project, see doily stamping.

Furthermore, this is another look at today’s watercolor Valentine card using scrap pieces from the previous project.

See a peek at how this card was created.
