Hello, friends! Welcome back to Tuesdays Thoughts with Bobbie Sue.
This past week I shared a card encouraging you to hurdle your fear in creating with background elements. I have always been intimidated by them, and up until about a month ago, rarely used them.
Just this week I created 4 cards incorporating back ground elements. My hope is that you will be inspired to create some of your own! Often we are the block in our own creativity. Our fear of failure keeps us from discovering a new style or interest. This has been my own personal experience! Perhaps it has been yours, as well.
As silly as this may sound I was often afraid of veering from my own “known for style” for fear it wouldn’t be appreciated or even accepted. What!? Well, no more. Let us go on a creative adventure. Let us veer off course and discover new styles of interest. After all, aren’t we creating for the sake of happiness and joy?! Creativity and freedom?!
My prayer is for you to take the creative leap that has intimidated you far too long. I’ll help cheer you along the way!
The following is a card series I made using background elements.
This first card uses an element from the Dec 22′ KOM, as well as, the beautiful floral from a set called One of those people. The sentiment is a stand alone stamp called “Tomorrow needs you“. There is also a small strip of paper using Wonky Stripes Background.
For this card, I recorded the card making process (edited into a quick video) and would love for you to view it here on my Two38 Creations FB page!
On this second card I used the same element, above, stamped differently. Inking the same stamp in various areas gives the card a completely different feel. Oh, I just love the outcome.
Here, the flower cluster is from a past 12/21 UU called Silent Spring. The scripture used here is a stand alone stamp called She is Strong.
Do you recognize the following two cards? I, recently, shared each in Unity Show n Tell. In this card, I used Envelope of Love as my background element and a floral and sentiment from a past UU called Grace will lead you. I do believe this will forever be a favorite of mine…
If you recall, on this card, I used the element from the Feb 23′ KOM. This cotton filled vase from Difficult Roads has always been a favorite of mine. I may recreate this card again.
I would LOVE for you to pop on over to my FB page and let me know which card from this series is your favorite!
Again, my hope is that you are inspired and encouraged to create outside of your “norm” and expand your own creative possibilities! Above all, my prayer is for you to find freedom in creativity that brings YOU happiness and joy.
If this post has encouraged and inspired you to create using elements, please tag me as you post in our Show N Tell group. I would love to see your creativity in card form!
Thank you so much for spending time with me today.
Until next time, I look forward to more Tuesday’s Thoughts, right here, next month.
