Hello and welcome to my first blog post for 2023. I am back on the Unity Blog hosting the April challenge of the month. The theme for this challenge is ‘grunge it up’. I am kicking off with some inspiration using the latest kit I designed for this very theme – Eiffel Grunge. Stay tuned for new release announcements later today at Unity Stamp Company. 
Grunge it up – Mixed Media Tag
My first project is a fun tag using Unity’s Make a Tag die. I die-cut the tag out of mixed media cardstock and stamped the Eiffel Tower focal image first. Then I added the vintage text stamps and background grid accents. Just a bunch of simple stamping that makes my heart super happy.
Next, I used Distress inks and to ink up the background. For coloring the flowers and adding shadows, I used Copic Markers. I created a heat-embossed sentiment strip using a sentiment from the Empowered Words stamp kit.
Finally, I added white splatters with gouache, a piece of lace, and a bull clip to finish off my tag. I am excited about the way it turned out and deeply believe in those words.
Grunge It Up – Encouragement Card
My next project is a grungy card where I started by printing a digital gelli-print background on Bristol smooth paper. Once again, I had fun stamping the focal image, the sentiment and all the fun stamping bits around it. This sentiment is from Whit’s Words stamp set.
This time, I used colored pencils to color the flowers. I also used Inktense pencils to add shadows around the image and topped it off with white splatters.
