Hello! It’s Noelle posting today! I am so glad you stopped by!
Today, I thought I would teach you how I make crepe paper rolls that I usually use in my junk journals! They also work for cards and make them quick and easy, so they are a must for card makers too! I went with a Pooh theme because he is my favorite guy! The possibilities are endless on what you can make them with!
I prefer old crepe paper in cream from the thrift store but new works too!
This time I grabbed a sheet of notebook paper, old typing paper and a deli sheet and coffee dyed them. I make my coffee dye in an old cleaning spray bottle with coffee and Glimmer Mist for some shimmer!
I cut them into strips without measuring! There is no wrong way to do it!
I got out my Classic Whimsy Tales Paper Pack, my Limited Edition Winnie the Pooh Ephemera, and my Vintage Winnie the Pooh – Cut Apart Sentiment Strips. I started cutting! The only thing I cut with care was the strips! I do like those perfect!
The paper I cut up however I wanted. I keep a dull blade that I put in my trimmer because I want the edges jagged. If you want them crisp, skip that! Some sheets I cut in half and had smaller strips. It is totally up to you!
Then you pile it under the needle. I turn my needle into all the paper and then lower my foot and start sewing!
When something runs out run something new in! I switch up my straight stitch to zigzag too!
Here is a small section of what I used.
Here it is rolled up with the card! I still have a lot cut up as you can see for my next project!
The card came together so quickly! I picked a sheet of paper from Classic Whimsy Tales, I glued this one down, I could have sewn it! I could have sewn the ruffle down too but I used glue dots. I popped up Pooh from the Pooh Ephemera with foam tape. I stapled on the Vintage Pooh Sentiment Strip!
Thank you so much for swinging by today!
