Happy Friday! It’s Julissa of Paper Gems by Jules on the blog ready to kick off another weekend full of crafty deals with Unity! Hopefully you’ve snagged some of your most favorite old stamps and some new ones during the first week of Brown Thursday! Today’s blog is here for some inspiration featuring the new “Jolande’s Journal” stamp kit. Jolande is a beautiful and creative artist that is so influential with her creativity… and how lucky are we that she is now inspiring stamps!! So let’s get inky….
I started by stamping the new Jolande’s Journal stamp on ivory paper using black ink. In retrospect, I should have used brown. Then using Ground Espresso Distress Ink, I aged the edges. I used a scissor to rough the edges and make tears to look natural.
Then I pulled out a sheet from the Write Your Story Paper Pack and cut it down to 4″ x 5.25″ and matted it on black card stock. At an angle, I adhered Jolande’s Journal. Next I stamped the girl from the …Not the End of Your Story Stamp Kit and a sentiment, also on ivory card stock. I used the Scallop & Stitched Sentiment dies to trim out the sentiment.
I added some distress ink to the sentiment, ephemera to the background and used foam tape to adhere them the the card front. Lastly I glued it to an ivory A2 card base. Jolande’s Journal stamp comes with all the detail so it gives lots of texture and depth to a card with one stamp!
