Hello friends, Lisa here, and I’m breaking out my Glimmer System for some hot foiling today! It has been a moment since I played with all of my foils and my lack of practice led me to make an oopsie. Yikes. But I’m here to tell you what went wrong and how it all worked out in the end.
This beautiful new stamp set from Unity Stamp Company inspired me to create a star filled night sky to celebrate baby Jesus.

O’ Holy Night Card
I started by stamping this beautiful image of Mary and baby Jesus on watercolor paper. I’m a fan of watercoloring with inks, so I pulled out a few Distress Ink cubes to work with listed below. Then found a wonderful sentiment to match my holy night theme.
Distress Ink: Tattered Rose, Antique Linen, Scattered Straw, Frayed Burlap, Hickory Smoke, Broken China, Dusty Concord
For the background, I used the following Distress Inks for a lovely blend: Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Faded Jeans, and Black Soot. That rich night sky was perfect for the hot foiled stars. I ended up with a bunch of overfoiling that I die cut away. This is a good reminder to always check what type of sandwich you need for your machine.
