Hello friends!
What do you do for relaxation? There are a number of things that I do, but I have to be diligent each and every day! Cardmaking is one of those things that relaxes me! Speaking of which, today I want to share a lovely vintage card using February’s Kit of the Month and Background of the Month!
This kit can be delivered to your front door each and every month at a discount, too! Stay with me until the end of my post to find out how! Now, onto my card!
First, I stamped the February Background of the Month in permanent black ink and then added color using Hero Arts liquid watercolors in Terracotta, Aqua, and Deep Ocean. Then I trimmed the panel and placed it over a white 5.5×4.25 card base. I decided to add a bit of layering between the background panel and the focal point, so I cut a piece of patterned paper from Gosh, I Love You (and gosh, this set of papers is AMAZING! i placed the piece of patterned paper over a larger piece of black cardstock and then adhered it over the background panel. That helps to break up the busy background from the focal point!
Now it was time to work on the focal point, so I stamped the floral teacup in permanent black ink (I use permanent ink so that when I color, the black ink doesn’t smear). I colored my focal point with Copic markers in B32, B34, Y15, Y19, Y11, V01, V05, V06, YG04, YG16, BG13, BG49, YR27, R27, and G46. For the steam coming off the top of the flowers, I used N4 and N2. Then I die cut the panel along with a slightly larger piece of black cardstock using my rectangle nesting dies. I placed it over the background panel I created earlier, and then finished with a sentiment using Cutapart Sentiment Strips!
I’m so glad you were able to join me today in creating this lovely vintage card with a heartfelt sentiment! I hope that you do take time to relax this week, you deserve it!
