Hello Crafty friends! I hope you are having a good week! I am excited to be back on the Unity blog today sharing some inspiration using the adorable Happy Easter Peeps stamp set with a fun mixed media twist! So let’s get started!
I started by stamping images from the Happy Easter Peeps set onto Bristol Smooth paper. I prepped the surface with my embossing buddy and stamped the images using Versafine Clair ink in Nocturne. I then heat set the images using clear embossing powder. I then colored the images using my Zig markers. I did some quick 2 layer coloring and then fussy cut the images. I set these aside to work on my background!
Next I wanted to create a basket for my cute little easter peeps and used a die in my stash. I wanted to create a vintage scene for the cute peeps and thought this basket would be the perfect addition. I die cut the basket using a colored cardstock and then inked up the basket with Distress Oxide Inks. I then added water droplets to the die cut and picked up some color with a paper towel. I then added some Lindy’s Gang Spray to the basket for an added distress touch, as well as embossing glaze. Next I adhered the basket together with liquid glue and distressed the edges of the basket with distress ink.
I then chose a piece of pattern paper from the Blossom Avenue paper pad collection. I trimmed the panel to smaller than an A2 card base. Next I dry embossed the panel using a Sizzix 3D embossing folder. I then added a bit of Distress Oxide ink to the panel as well. I completed the card by adhering the dry embossed panel to an A2 card base. Next I arranged my cute little Easter Peeps in my basket with some green grass. I adhered some with liquid glue, as well as foam tape. I stamped the sweet sentiment from the kit and adhered this to my card front.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I will be back next week!
