Hi friends! Sometimes I’m in a rush and need to get a card done quickly, so I like to rely on easy techniques that look incredible but don’t take much time. Today’s card features an easy coloring technique with alcohol markers! I’ll be using Blooms of Solace stamp! . Unity creates lovely and detailed stamps, making it perfect for coloring because you don’t need to add much to all that glorious detail! Below are a few steps to take for easy coloring!
- Stamp the design onto a white card panel in permanent black ink. I use permanent ink so that it doesn’t bleed when I color with my alcohol markers. Plus the black ink gives you a very detailed image. You can find this kind of ink just about anywhere! I use Neenah Solar White cardstock for my Copic coloring because it absorbs the ink very well and doesn’t bleed outside the lines.
- Next, color the image. I grabbed my Copic markers in V09, V06, V04, E15, E18, E49, and for the leaves YG17. Keep the color selection VERY basic, just enough to add depth. If you use too many colors, you may risk having the ink bleed outside the lines. I colored the cross in the brown shades, the leaves in YG17, and the flowers in the Violet shades. I added a touch of Y15 to a few estranged flowers. It took about 1/2 hour to color!
- Add details to finish the card.
I added color around my design by using a sunray stencil and inking a light shade of yellow around the cross. I added my sentiment and placed it over the focal point. Then I adhered the finished card panel over a slightly larger piece of patterned paper from Vintage Whispers and adhered both to a 5.5×4.25 white card base. I finished with glossy accents over the floral stamins for added interest and shine! All that detail brings your card from average to WOW!!!
I hope that I was able to share a few tips on doing some quick coloring to achieve a fantastic card! Thank you for stopping by!
