Hi friends!
Today’s card reminds me of the boldness of spring weather. Strong smells, bold colors, and thunderstorms! I love this design image on my card because it reminds me of the flowers that both my mom and I plant each year! For my card, I’ll be using March’s Kit of the Month, Background of the Month, and my alcohol markers.
I stamped the image from the Kit of the Month in black ink onto a piece of white cardstock and then colored it with my alcohol markers. I only used a few colors as these images are small and I didn’t want my ink to bleed outside of the design I was coloring. Then I went around the image with a light shade of blue dye ink to create a sky effect – I wasn’t too worried about it looking realistic, I just wanted to fill up the white space, so I didn’t some uneven ink blending to give it a more natural look. Then I trimmed the panel down with my deckled paper trimmer and adhered it over a piece of black cardstock that was slightly larger. I love how black cardstock behind it creates a frame for the focal point! I did the same with the sentiment!
Next, I stamped the background from the March Background of the Month in black ink over a piece of white cardstock. I adhered the floral panel over the stamped background and then added the sentiment below the design image. Even though this card is very busy, it works because most of the card is black and white with exception to the flowers, fence and butterfly!
