Hi friends! I hope you are having a wonderful spring season! The grass is getting green, and birds are singing away from early in the morning! Today’s card reminds me of spring, and I think the sentiment is perfect for someone that is in need of a springtime hug! I’ll be using the lilies from April’s Kit of the Month and Rustic Flutter background stamp!
I stamped the lilies onto a white card base and colored them in shades of purple with my alcohol markers. Then I did some ink schmooshing around the lilies by applying yellow ink onto my glass media matt, spraying with water, and grabbing the ink with acetate. Then I gently tapped the acetate around the flowers to apply color randomly. It was ok if some of the yellow got onto the flowers, I wasn’t going for a perfect look, I just wanted that pop of color behind the lilies! The photo below is a close up of how the flowers look with the ink schmooshing! I also applied purple splatters for an added element of detail!
I trimmed the finished card panel down and adhered it over a slightly larger piece of black cardstock. Then I stamped Rustic Flutter in a deep shade of purple onto a white card panel sized 5.5×4.25. I adhered the flowers over the background panel and finished with a sentiment and purple sequins!
